The Hawk is Colegio El Camino's student newspaper, with stories, opinions and ideas shared by students and faculty, in English and Spanish.
Su primera versión apareció en 2019-2020. Cuatro años después, regresamos con nuevas plumas y energía renovada para ayudar a construir una comunidad escolar en la que nos escribamos y leamos unos a otros.
Its first version appeared in 2019-2020. Four years later, we return with new pens and renewed energy to help build a school community where we write and read each other.

Cuando yo iba en la universidad tomé mi primer trabajo como reportero en The Prospector, el periódico estudiantil de UTEP. Desde entonces he creído que el periodismo es una herramienta invaluable para enriquecer la vida de cada persona y fortalecer a una comunidad. Para hacer periodismo, debemos ser curiosos, indagadores y resilientes. Un periódico escolar nos invita a interesarnos por los demás y celebrar lo que hacemos juntos, intercambiar ideas de manera fundamentada y respetuosa, y nos ayuda a resolver problemas y orientar juntos nuestra reflexión. ¡Estoy muy emocionado por lo que The Hawk puede contribuir a nuestra comunidad Camino!
When I was in college I took my first job as a reporter at The Prospector, UTEP's student newspaper. Since then I have believed that journalism is a powerful way to enrich the lives of any person and strengthen a community as a whole. To do journalism, we must be curious, inquiring and resilient. A school newspaper invites us to care about each other and celebrate what we do together, exchange ideas in an informed and respectful way, and helps us solve problems and guide our thinking together. I'm excited about what The Hawk can contribute to our Camino community!
